Program Description

This interdisciplinary course offers a new approach to learning about the Humanities, drawing on the skills, methods and approaches that we use to study History, English Literature, Politics and Philosophy. You'll face ethical questions, and consider political answers to them. You'll ask what it means to ‘be human’ and how being human – and realising our potential – can enable us to make a difference to those around us. You'll be challenged to think about our place in the world and how we see ourselves – and how others see us. Together with your study of histories and cultures, landscapes and cities, ethics and ideas, you'll develop a wide range of skills in professional writing; promoting your ideas through social media; project design, planning, implementation and evaluation; team working, developing empathy and ethical leadership. This is a course through which you will build knowledge and expertise, but also confidence, self-awareness, and the capacity to take the initiative and solve problems. It is practical as well as theoretical, professional and applied.
