Program Description

With the introduction of the SQE1 requirements for aspiring solicitors, traditional LLB courses often lack some key learning areas that would afford graduates a strong chance of achieving the SQE1 requirements in a timely fashion. Our LLM is designed to address those gaps by providing students with the subjects needed for the SQE 1 that are not taught in all traditional LLB courses, therefore this course is aimed at those students who have already achieved an undergraduate law degree, and need to study the additional subjects covered by the SQE 1.The course will cover Property Practice and Procedure, Law of Succession, Criminal Practice and Evidence, Business Law and Solicitors Accounts, and Dispute Resolution. Students will also undertake a Post Graduate Major Project in a legal subject of their choice. Assessment on the course uses a variety of methods designed to imbed an understanding of the course content and its application. As well as practical and written elements students will also be assessed by MCQ exams, in the same format as the SQE1.
