Program Description

This Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA)-accredited program prepares students for diverse career opportunities in the health care field. Designed for Manitoba’s evolving health care needs, courses focus on clinical, medical technology, and administrative skills to enhance your medical knowledge, critical thinking, human relations, and organizational abilities. The program’s focus on best care practices will give you the knowledge to enhance patient care and operational effectiveness in health care teams. Through hands-on learning components in our patient care simulation lab, along with practicums in a variety of health care settings, the program readies graduates for their Health Information-Certified Associates (HICA) designation. All students participate in MITT’s Bridging to Work workshops, which provide them with a foundation in the employability and essential skills employers demand. Who it is for
