Program Description

The BA (Hons) Interior Architecture and Design program at the University of Portsmouth is a full-time, three-year course that provides students with a comprehensive understanding of spatial design, sustainability, and the built environment. The program encourages creativity and innovation within a framework of professional relevance. Students gain knowledge in designing spaces, manipulating interiors and understanding how space can be altered to meet user needs. They learn to create solutions for a variety of complex scenarios, in both residential and commercial contexts. The curriculum combines theoretical understanding with practical, hands-on experience through workshops, CAD modelling and studio work. The final year project gives students an opportunity to fully flex their designs for complex environments. Aided by expert faculty, the course is geared towards producing graduates with a broad set of skills ideal for a career in architecture, interior design, or similar sectors.
