Program Description

The Computer Systems Technologist explores how to design, install, troubleshoot and maintain enterprise-level information systems (IS) and this IT program will develop your skills to manage and provide high-level support to various organizations. In addition to your academic technical skillset, Computer Systems Technology students experience learning through co-ops which support progressive learning and is offered early in your studies. This allows you to take what you’ve learned from all of your IT courses and apply it directly in the field to further strengthen your technical, communication and interpersonal skills. Field experience has the additional benefit of enriching and supporting your continued academic studies. The final two co-op terms are back-to-back and may provide an opportunity to become involved in larger organizational IS projects. Successful completion of this IT program will enable you to explore several industry certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) and Red Hat Certified System Administrator.
