Program Description

This 10-month program is designed to provide employment preparation training for adults with mild developmental disabilities. Our post-secondary setting enables learners to further their education beyond high school to transition to the workforce. Through a combination of classroom and workplace instruction, you will acquire training on current equipment, an understanding of current workplace practices, food safety and handling skills, and independent living skills. Your self-confidence and marketable skills will increase while receiving ongoing, intensive support and mentoring from college faculty staff. During the classroom portion (term 1) of the program, you will participate in job safety skills, workplace communication, and career planning. You will also have the opportunity to participate in a number of community based learning events including various field trips and volunteer opportunities.
