Program Description

Centennial College's Paramedic program takes pride in its exceptional standards, high-quality graduates and high employment rates. You'll spend two years in Paramedic courses that will cover emergency, medical, trauma and psychological situations through hands-on training in state-of-the-art lab facilities at the College's Morningside campus. Besides physical care, you'll also learn to provide support to people in crisis, drawing on a unique combination of analytical and professional therapeutic skills. Your career advantage will be furthered by the fact that paramedics who actively work in the field teach the courses. Once you complete the Paramedic program, you'll be eligible and well prepared to take the Ministry of Health exam for Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant (A-EMCA). Graduates have consistently scored above the provincial average on the A-EMCA certification exam. Because ministry regulations require this certification for employment as a paramedic in Ontario, Paramedic graduates enjoy an excellent reputation in the field.
