Program Description

Become a well-rounded storyteller in our program that pairs journalism fundamentals with the latest media technology. Gain the research, reporting, editing and visual skills needed to succeed as a journalist, and understand how to use the tools that will set you apart in today's mass media landscape. Our program combines fundamental journalism training and the latest technology and trends in the media world. You'll learn everything from the building blocks of good reporting to the cultural implications of our evolving media landscape. You’ll take courses in research, reporting and editing. You’ll gain valuable professional experience through an internship. You can choose to pursue our public relations concentration or take electives on topics like graphic design, sports reporting or social media. Our journalism major offers students the flexibility to pair with a minor in another subject or take a wider variety of classes.
