Program Description
To achieve the MEd in Educational Studies you must complete six 20 credit modules and one 60 credit module. There are three stages to the programme: Postgraduate Certificate (three 20 credit modules) Postgraduate Diploma (three 20 credit modules) MEd (one 60 credit module) The PGCert stage comprises the following core modules: Research Design in Education, Becoming Critical in Education, and Global Perspectives in Education. Success completing of the PGCert allows you to proceed to the Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip) where you will study one core module: Research and Pedagogy, and you will choose two out of the three optional modules: Philosophy of Education, Education of Sustainability, and Inclusive Leadership Practice. Successful completion of the PgDip allows you to proceed to the MEd stage where you will have the choice of either completing a research module of Master’s Dissertation, or a taught module of Critical Discourse in Pedagogy and Practices.
