Program Description

The BSc (Hons) Building Surveying program at the University of Portsmouth is designed for students interested in the construction industry with a special focus on surveying buildings. Combining theory and practical skills, students get to study areas like building design, building conservation, construction technology, contract and project management, building pathology, and performance, and sustainability in buildings. The program is accredited by professional organizations such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), and the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE). Students will have the opportunity to participate in site visits and fieldwork, and possibly an optional work placement year which helps them gain real-world experience before graduation.
