Program Description

In this interdisciplinary program, which spans biology, biochemistry and biomedicine, you'll have opportunities to pursue basic or translational research in areas from cancer, infectious disease and neuroscience to immunology, cell signaling and developmental biology. You'll use a wide array of techniques to explore a spectrum of important biological questions through innovative, collaborative and interdisciplinary approaches.As a biochemistry, cell and molecular biology student, you'll build on foundational science coursework through an individually-tailored program that emphasizes research skills and career development. You'll work closely with faculty committed to excellence in their teaching and their research and recognized as leaders on campus and in their fields. Our master’s program is research-intensive, giving you exceptional hands-on expertise as you work to complete original research and a master’s thesis. Successful completion of the MS requires a minimum of 30 hours of graduate work beyond the bachelor's degree. Your individual program of study will be developed in consultation with your faculty advisor and thesis committee.
