Program Description

Hartwick’s biology graduates go on to careers in academia, medicine, pharmaceuticals, dentistry, and many other health-related professions, and to further study at some of the nation’s most prestigious institutions. Hartwick students conduct research with their faculty. Students have co-authored articles published in leading scientific journals, including Science, one of the most prestigious scientific journals in the world. Small classes, challenging research projects, and an impressive array of laboratory equipment allow you to develop the practical skills of analytics and identification as you become familiar with the tools of your career. Phase-contrast, fluorescence, and electron microscopes; equipment for genetic engineering, cloning, and immunology; even a lab devoted to collected tissue cultures.
