Program Description

The BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies program at the University of Portsmouth is designed for those who are interested in pursuing a career in early years education. This three-year full-time undergraduate course provides students with a detailed understanding of the development, learning, and care of young children from birth to 8 years and encourages them to understand the specific needs of this age group in a multidisciplinary way. Notable modules included in the course are child development, contemporary issues in early childhood, professional development in early years, safeguarding children and dedicated learning through play.
