Program Description

This course gives you a strong start in the main ideas and theories in the tourism and events industries. You'll graduate with the knowledge you need to start an exciting career in this fast-paced sector. On this two-year foundation degree course, you'll learn everything you need for a successful career in the events and entertainment industry, a major part of the global economy with a huge number of graduate roles available. You'll be able to explore your interests, personalising your education to help you reach your career goals. In the course, you'll learn about the major issues in the industry including the latest trends and practices in customer experience management. You'll be invited to guest lectures from the University's global network of industry professionals giving you first-hand knowledge and the chance to build your network. You'll learn through traditional classroom lectures, field and study trips, company visits and activities like the Santander Enterprise Challenge and the Business Enterprise Challenge. Plus, innovative teaching methods like Virtual and Augments Reality help you understand global tourism and give you a deep understanding of the subject. In this course, you'll learn to think critically, becoming well-informed independent learners with the transferable skills employers around the world are looking for. Plus, you'll go on work-based practice in a business you select and choose your assessments that fit with your style of learning. Graduates from this course can go on to study the BA (Hons) International Tourism and Hospitality Management (Top-Up).
