Program Description

Hartwick economics students get prepared for advanced study in the discipline or a range of career options through its deliberate focus on economic policy. You’ll build a solid foundation in economic principles and theory, and learn to think analytically. Each course in the department works to refine students’ analytical reasoning skills.Hartwick encourages off-campus study in economics, whether at St. Andrews in Scotland or researching small-island sustainability in Barbados. Internships with firms like Merrill Lynch and government agencies like the Bureau of Labor Statistics provide practical, hands-on experience and often lead to employment after graduation.
