Program Description

Combine expert services and compassion - 2020/2021 Providing compassionate and state-of-the-art care to those with Autism and their caregivers is what the Fanshawe Autism and Behavioural Science program is all about. Your expertise upon graduating will have a direct influence on people’s lives, making their world a better place. Not only that, your expertise will be in demand. The significant escalation of the incidence rate for autism (estimated at 1 in 165 children) has created a shortfall in the number of specialists who can deliver quality services. Upon graduation, you’ll be ready to help fill this shortfall with your advanced knowledge of autism, and awareness of effective intervention techniques with two field placements and academic study. Career opportunities for Autism and Behavioural Science As well, you'll have established expertise in autism and behavioural science within the children's sector, and be able to select from a range of career opportunities including Autism Services and Children's Services, Instructor Therapist, private provider of Intensive Behaviour Intervention (IBI), and Autism Specialist in a service agency or school board. If finding a meaningful career working with people in need of expert services and compassion, and if seeing results from your hard work on a daily basis is something you care about, the Autism and Behavioral Science program will get you on your way.
