Program Description

It's not just film anymore. Our broadcast and cinematic arts master's program prepares you to work, teach and create within the dynamic world of electronic media. You'll get hands-on experience in one of four concentrations: electronic media studies, electronic media management, electronic media production, or film theory and criticism. Take your electronic media knowledge to the next level with an understanding of scholarly or business perspectives. Establish relationships with like-minded peers and faculty in small classroom settings. And have the chance to hone your technical skills as a versatile media producer and creator. In our rigorous master's in broadcast and cinematic arts program, you'll have the chance to pursue one of four concentrations: Electronic Media Studies. Electronic Media Management. Electronic Media Production. Film Theory and Criticism. You'll combine the theoretical with the practical. You'll complete a final research paper or thesis demonstrating your expertise in your chosen area. And you'll have professional networking opportunities through national organizations, like Alpha Epsilon Rho/National Broadcasting Society and Radio Television Digital News Association. Some students earning a master's degree in broadcast and cinematic arts pursue doctoral studies at nationally recognized institutions. Others pursue exciting careers in business, broadcasting, media, marketing, teaching and more.
