Program Description

At Crandall, we believe in a grand-narrative, a story that has been playing out since the act of creation. We also believe that humans have the natural capacity to understand and respond to stories which are at the heart of our program in Theatre. The Theatre program at Crandall is rooted in the concept of storytelling – the narrative. We believe that humans often chart a path toward truth through storytelling and we welcome you to deepen your understanding of the narrative and hone your skills as a storyteller as you participate in the Theatre program. Build a foundation in the theoretical concepts of storytelling at the beginning of your program. Participate with other students in dramatic productions on campus. Spend a year immersed in the profession of technical or performance theatre at Rosebud School of the Arts (Alberta) as part of your degree. Have your life transformed through the internship option of participating in the Canadian Badlands Passion Play (Alberta), and create a strategic network with professional actors and theatre personnel. Enjoy the opportunity for international travel to either New York or London where you will enjoy and learn through top-notch professional performances. Complete your program at Crandall by giving leadership to the productions as a component of your final year of studies.
