Program Description
Explore how Earth is affected by some of society's most important demands, such as finding ore resources, resource conservation, management of natural hazards, or environmental remediation. Specialize your knowledge in Earth Science through an intensive program that includes theoretical study and hands-on work. Develop and hone your geoscience skills and tools for successful research, from the formulation of a thesis problem to its solution. Choose the specialization based on your interests from our faculty who are recognized internationally, who have won reputable awards and are leaders in their respective sub-disciplines. Research areas range widely from ore deposit geology, volcanology, structural geology, sedimentology, paleontology, mineralogy, igneous and metamorphic petrology, geophysics, 3D computer modeling, to environmental geoscience, pedology and bioremediation.
