Program Description
Are you disillusioned with the state of our politics and society? Do you want to make a difference in your community and the world? Our Politics degree will equip you with ability to effect meaningful political change, and with the transferable skills that employers are looking for. Skills of clear-sighted political analysis are needed more than ever before. We face challenges and crises both at home and abroad. While some might find this uncertainty unnerving, students of politics focus on finding different ways to analyse problems and think about new approaches to improve our world. Our Politics degree situates the big issues of the day in their historical and philosophical contexts. You’ll explore continuity and change in local, national and global dimensions of politics, and scrutinise political ideas, structures and approaches that will help you to understand and address our complex, and ever-changing circumstances. We have been placed 7th in the UK for student satisfaction in the National Student Survey 2022 with 90% of our students being satisfied overall with their course. You’ll develop skills in critical thought and analysis, working as part of a team, networking, and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely. This will help you to enter roles in a variety of sectors such as national or local government, non-governmental organisations, business and finance, journalism or teaching.
