Computers affect every part of our lives. Technology is rapidly evolving, and the need for computer scientists to work across almost every industry continues to grow. Our IS2 Computing is the first stage in your integrated BSc (Hons) Computing Science degree course. You will be introduced to a wide range of Computing principles including software engineering, multi-paradigm programming, advanced algorithms and fundamentals of computer systems. On completion, students will continue to Year 3 of BSc (Honours) in Computer Science in the School of Science & Engineering. During this degree, you'll work at the cutting-edge of technology. You will develop machine learning algorithms, web applications, and multi-platform games. You'll learn how to use technology to find solutions that can change lives worldwide. You'll become part of an exciting and innovative environment, working with real-world organisations to create applications from requirements gathering to final product. We work closely with industries on a local and international level to ensure that the topics you study are practical and relevant. You'll put this experience into practice through short-term summer work placement modules.
