Program Description

The Electrical Techniques program helps students build the skills required for a career in the electrical industry. Students will gain both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice in electrical fundamentals. During the program, students can develop the basic skills required to become an electrical apprentice. This program is the first step towards such as a career as a professional tradesperson. Students are also introduced to the fundamental elements of the trade (e.g. regulations and practices). In keeping with Ministry and the Ontario College of Trades standards, the program will deliver content that meets the requirements for Level 1 in-school Electrician apprenticeship (309A/442A) training.

Study and Work in Canada

Full-time undergraduate and post-graduate international students can work anywhere on or off campus without a work permit. The rules around the number of hours a student will be allowed to work may vary based on the country the student chooses to study in.
