Turn your love of music into a career. Develop a professional framework in music performance, history, theory and education in CMU's music program. You’ll learn from our accomplished faculty musicians, access state-of-the-art facilities and study with talented peers of all musical backgrounds. In our music program, you'll become a well-rounded performer, musician, and teacher. You'll deepen skills in music performance, theory, history, music technology, ear training and more. You'll study an instrument of your choice and earn a degree that will prepare you for a variety of careers as well as graduate school. As a student at CMU, you can share your love of music with other students in the School of Music Residential College. This means you'll live with other passionate student musicians and form lasting friendships and networks. The residence hall also offers practice rooms for your convenience — no extra trudging through the snow during the winter.
