Program Description

At Hartwick, we know that prescribed journeys aren’t for everyone. Some of us learn better when we chart our own path. That’s why we offer you the opportunity to create your own major, bringing Hartwick’s renowned focus on hands-on education together with your passion to make a major that’s just right for you.An ISP should be comparable in strength, breadth, and depth to programs at colleges and universities that offer majors in the area of study, and to other majors at Hartwick. Together with the chair of ISP and the ISP committee each student works to develop their course plan, thesis proposal and thesis in conjunction with their chosen advisors to reflect the goals of their desired program.
