Program Description

A nurse needs to be able to assess care needs then plan, implement and evaluate care for people with a wide range of illnesses. This calls for excellent communication skills and compassion as well as specialist knowledge and nursing skills, all of which you acquire from this degree. Fifty per cent of your time is spent in practice, learning to provide care across a range of settings including medical and surgical nursing, care of older people, community nursing and acute nursing. The other 50% of your time is university based, learning in the classroom, in individual study and simulated practice environments.
