Program Description

Students in Nutrition & Dietetics acquire an understanding of food and develop an appreciation for current issues in nutrition and dietetics. Students gain solid knowledge in biology and chemistry that is applied to studies of food and nutrient metabolism. Students will also obtain experience in developing new food products and in sensory evaluation. This background, combined with courses in areas such as statistics, communications, psychology, food science and nutrition education, prepares students to work effectively with individuals, families, and communities to plan, develop, and manage relevant food and nutrition programs.
