Program Description

Learn to build scalable software solutions with the Computer Programming (T186) diploma program. In two years, students gain the technical and soft skills to pursue exciting and in-demand careers as software developers, technical support specialists and more. This program – developed to address the shortage of skilled IT professionals – teaches students programming logic and techniques to design, implement and test software and web applications, as well as object-oriented concepts and test-driven development techniques. Students gain experience working through the project life cycle, from design to implementation and testing and learn to manage database systems for dynamic applications. Soft skills development in teamwork and communications – both in high demand in the IT industry – round out the technical training. Lab tutors support students in strengthening their skills in workshops every semester. This program also provides opportunities for practical experience with a capstone project where students apply their skills and knowledge to solve real-world challenges.
