Program Description

Successful major construction projects, built efficiently, safely, on time, and profitable, are the result of the work and collaboration of talented construction management teams. If you’re hungry for a career that puts you in charge, or if you’re eager to unleash your true earning potential, the Construction Engineering Technology program will open the doors to a satisfying career as a leader on a construction management team. In this diploma in construction engineering, you will develop the technical knowledge and skills required to oversee and manage the construction of residential, industrial, commercial and institutional projects - from the conceptual planning phase through to project completion and contract closeout. You'll learn hard skills to: Estimate labour, material requirements and costs; Write and understand contracts; Evaluate a project's feasibility and establish target budgets; Develop a site logistics plan and construction plan; Schedule and manage construction projects; Perform on-site field engineering, field inspections, and utilize the latest in on-site technology including digital takeoff platforms and construction-related mobile apps. In this construction engineering program, you'll learn the soft skills required to be an effective, respected leader - both in the office and on site. As part of the program, you'll get incredible first hand experience in the construction industry with 12 full months of paid co-op, spread over four-month and eight-month work terms.
