Program Description

Do you love using technology to solve problems? Do you want a hands-on career in engineering design or production? As a mechanical engineering technology major, you will apply technology to create new products and systems or improve existing ones. In our mechanical engineering technology program — accredited by ABET — you will obtain the knowledge and practical experience for an exciting career in design, installation, manufacturing, testing, evaluation, technical sales or maintenance of mechanical systems. You’ll learn all about design and manufacturing processes, tools and modeling. You’ll take classes in robotics, thermodynamics, circuits and energy analysis. You’ll complete hands-on training in working with metals and polymers. You'll collaborate with faculty using cutting-edge technology — from 3-D printers to alternative energies.
