Program Description

The BA (Hons) International Development program at the University of Portsmouth is a three-year full-time course that exposes students to various aspects of international development, such as social policy, politics, economics, human geography, and environmental issues. The curriculum is designed to help students understand and address global challenges such as poverty, inequality, conflicts, migration and climate change. This program combines theory with practical work, providing students with the opportunity to participate in a work placement year. Upon graduation, students will be prepared for careers in international agencies, charities, NGOs, governmental bodies, and more. This course is also offered part-time for six years.
