Program Description
Are you disillusioned with the state of our politics and society? Do you want to make a difference in your community and the world? Our Politics degree is taught by experts and high-profile political practitioners, and will equip you with ability to effect meaningful political change, and with the transferable skills that employers are looking for. Skills of clear-sighted political analysis are needed more than ever before, as our traditional political ‘certainties’ crumble and as our world is faced with persistent injustices and new challenges. Our Politics degree situates the big issues of the day in their historical and philosophical contexts. You’ll explore continuity and change in local, national and global dimensions of politics, and scrutinise political ideas, structures and approaches that will help you to understand and address our complex, and ever-changing circumstances. The foundation year will develop your skills in critical thought and analysis, working as part of a team, networking, and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely. These valuable assets will help you to enter roles in a variety of sectors such as national or local government, non-governmental organisations, journalism, or teaching.
