Program Description
Our early years education course prepares you to become an exceptional educational professional working with the youngest learners. This course is guided by current policy and legislation including the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (2012), Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018) and The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989). You will be introduced to historical and contemporary constructions of childhood, investigate theories of child development and develop an underpinning knowledge of play-based approaches. You will examine different theoretical and practice-based perspectives, and you will begin to make links between different concepts. For example, learning through play, and the relationship between attachment behaviours and brain development.
