Program Description
The BSc Honours Pharmacology & Physiology program at University of Westminster aims to offer a robust understanding of basic and complex aspects related to Pharmacology and Physiology. Students engage in a comprehensive study about the mechanism of action, side effects, toxicity of drugs, and molecular interactions. The curriculum also delves deep into human physiology, imparting knowledge about our body's normal functioning and pathophysiology. This four-year program uses a blend of lectures, laboratory-based practicals, tutorials, workshops, and research projects. After the third year, students get the opportunity to work on a year-long research placement that enables them to apply their theoretical knowledge into practical scenarios. During the final year, students carry out a research project that can either be laboratory- or literature-based, under the guidance of a member of the academic staff. Upon completion of the program, graduates will have a broad understanding of pharmacology and physiology, research skills, scientific writing skills, and analytical thinking. They will be prepared to work in pharmaceutical industries, research institutions, healthcare sector, and more.
