Program Description

Our MLaw in Legal Theory & Solicitors Practice gives you a clear and supported career pathway to qualify as a solicitor in England & Wales. The Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) is a different pathway for students who wish to qualify as a solicitor in England & Wales. The MLaw programme addresses this and provides a distinct route to prepare you for the SQE. This course gives you the support and guidance you need to perform effectively in both SQE1 and SQE2. The MLaw gives you a rigorous legal education with an in-depth grounding in practical legal and transferable skills. The course develops your legal, academic and clinical skills at every stage of your journey. Our student Law Clinic and links with third sector and private legal advice services will enhance your employability and academic achievement. Our diverse team of academic staff have expertise in legal research and practice. They'll give you the tools you need to graduate as a capable and reflective practitioner, equipped for legal, law-related, and other careers. You'll work in the School’s Law Clinic throughout your degree and can undertake a work placement year. These opportunities will contribute to the two year Qualifying Work Experience (QWE) required by the SRA for you to qualify as a solicitor in England and Wales.
