Program Description

This program prepares students to be effective, efficient, entry-level professionals. Students develop skills in business basics, marketing basics, and customer service. The Business Foundations curriculum prepares the student to be an effective staff member in business, government or non-profit organizations and/or start their own microbusiness. All CMU/WCCC technical certificate graduates are expected to demonstrate proficiency in specialized knowledge/applied learning, communication fluency, and critical thinking. In addition to these campus‐wide student learning outcomes, graduates of this major will be able to: Explain the importance of customer service. (Critical Thinking) Demonstrate effective communication skills. (Applied Learning) Compare and contrast different functions of business (Specialized Knowledge).
