Program Description

Sociology is the study of societies, social life, and social change. It investigates social, cultural and demographic issues in Canada and around the world. Topics covered include: sexuality, popular culture, inequality, migration, race, ethnicity, class, gender, values, health, family dynamics, law, social movements, institutions, and community. A degree in sociology provides rigorous training in fundamental research, analytical, and communication skills, research ethics, social research techniques and design, and theory. Our comprehensive program fosters critical thinking and evidence based arguments. It is research driven and attentive to global, national, and local dynamics and issues.
