Program Description

MITT’s Industrial Welding certificate program helps students build a strong foundation of the knowledge and skills required to design and build products by cutting and joining materials using ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Students work independently or in teams using current welding and fabrication equipment to complete projects in a learning environment that simulates an industrial welding shop. To complement their technical skills with the employability and essential skills employers demand, all students participate in MITT’s Work Skills Series workshops. This program is affiliated with CWA (Canadian Welding Association), CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) and Apprenticeship Manitoba. Students who successfully complete the program and meet eligibility criteria can receive credit toward their continued apprenticeship path or earn select certifications through CWB. Graduates who meet specific criteria can also earn credit toward Apprenticeship Manitoba Level 1. Who it is for: Individuals who like to work with their hands, alone or in teams, and who like to blend creativity with precision to weld and fabricate products for a range of applications.
