Program Description
Explore the dynamic interactions between educational systems and youth development. Equip yourself with the knowledge and skills necessary to positively impact the lives of young individuals and contribute to effective learning environments.Make a difference to young children’s lives with a degree in Education and Youth Studies. This course gives you the knowledge and skills to carve out a sustainable career in the education sector or working with young children. On our BA Education and Youth Studies programme, our priority is that you graduate with the skills and experience you will need to thrive in a career in Education. This includes: • Developing the knowledge and skills needed for teamwork in a range of communities and work settings with links to children and adolescents. This includes youth clubs, sports clubs and special educational settings • Learning how to advocate for children, their families and communities • Providing you with skills, knowledge and understanding needed to succeed in a variety of education-related jobs • Learning about the fundamentals of how children learn, the importance of inclusion and an understanding of professionalism in education. You’ll also develop the attributes you need to succeed in the workplace, including: • Written and spoken communication • Problem-solving • Teamwork • Attention to detail. Your employability is our priority from day one. An optional paid work placement gives you the opportunity to gain professional experience, or study abroad between Years 2 and 3.
