Program Description

Drawing on your existing animation skills, you will develop a longer-form animation, serial or series, festival entry, or other industry-related product, and prepare to ‘take it to market’. You will work on story development and will learn how to prepare a treatment or step outline. You will make practical materials and animated footage, learn the art of self-promotion, and gain the relevant skills to build an electronic press kit and pitch bible. Emphasis will be placed on pitching, which you rehearse and refine in front of your peers, tutors, and industry professionals. You will also become skilled in contextualising your own work and will be required to engage in critical theory as a means of exploring this.
