Program Description
The BSc (Hons) Criminology with Psychology program at the University of Portsmouth is a comprehensive and engaging course that combines areas of study specific to both criminology and psychology. This program is designed for students who are interested in understanding crime, criminal behaviour, and the human mind. Throughout the programme, students will study a range of modules that cover the theory, policy, and practice of criminology and psychology and how they intersect. They will gain an in-depth understanding of psychological theory and research methods, along with the factors that lead to criminal behaviour, social inclusion and exclusion, and criminal justice systems. This course also allows students to engage in work placements and projects that allow them to apply the theory they learn in class to real-world situations. By the end of the program, students will have acquired the knowledge and skills to work in a variety of sectors, including law enforcement, policy development, social work, and various roles within the criminal justice system.
