Program Description

Our graduates show prospective employers strong communication abilities developed within a liberal arts and sciences education, unmatched by students trained in only technical skills.Whether you choose the CPA or general accounting major, you’ll receive a solid foundation in accounting, including New York State’s CPA exam core courses: financial and managerial accounting, taxation, and auditing. Accounting’s focus on the preparation, communication, and use of economic information for decision-making is especially relevant in an information age. Accounting-based information is the central means of communicating with internal and external stakeholders. The program’s goal is to develop well-rounded individuals who understand the role of accounting within society, possess a solid accounting foundation, and can apply their education to ethical decision-making.
