Program Description
An alternative approach to gaining a qualifying Law degree is to study on one of our ‘Law with’ degrees. These share the same core Law components as the LLB Single Honours but allow you to study another subject alongside Law to gain different insights and experience to build your own career pathway. Study Law with Sociology and join a challenging, vibrant and friendly community, led by an experienced team of academics, practitioners, solicitors, barristers and international lawyers. Your Law degree will enable you to progress to the vocational stage of lawyer’s training, to qualify as either a solicitor or barrister. This original and innovative course has been designed in consultation with senior managers to give you both a theoretical and practical experience. As part of your degree, you will have the option to get involved with practical justice including opportunities to shadow a local judge and experience live mediations from our in-house Mediation Clinic. Through our strong links with the local community, Citizens Advice, and local courts, you will have the opportunity to act as a Community Legal Companion for unrepresented parties at court. This is an excellent opportunity for you to gain hands-on work experience in a legal setting.
